Avatr Technology, backed by Changan Automobile, , and , today launched the updated Avatr 11, less than six months after the last update of the SUV (sport utility vehicle) model.

The updated Avatr 11 has higher guide prices, starting at RMB 289,900 ($39,780), although Avatr said it's offering discounted prices to bring the starting price down to the same RMB 279,900 as its predecessor.

Specifically, the updated Avatr 11 is available in one extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variant with a starting guide price of RMB 289,900, as well as four battery electric vehicle (BEV) variants with a starting guide prices of RMB 309,900, RMB 369,900, RMB 389,900 and RMB 429,900 respectively.

After discounts, these models start at RMB 279,900, RMB 299,900, RMB 359,900, RMB 364,900, and RMB 419,900 respectively.

Its predecessor was launched on December 2, 2024, with two EREV variants starting at RMB 279,900, RMB 299,900 and three BEV variants starting at RMB 339,900, RMB 369,900 and RMB 429,900 respectively.

The SUV's upgrades focus on the suspension system as well as comfort features, and adds a so-called Dark Knight Edition model to the BEV variants with matte gray paint.

The dimensions of the updated Avatr 11 remain unchanged at 4,895 mm, 1,970 mm and 1,601 mm in length, width and height respectively, with a wheelbase of 2,975 mm.

Its EREV variant is a single-motor rear-wheel drive model that can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.9 seconds.

Its BEV variant has one single-motor rear-wheel drive model that can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds and three dual-motor four-wheel drive models that can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds.

The Avatr 11 EREV continues to be powered by the Freevoy battery from CATL, which was launched on October 24, 2024, and is a hybrid-specific battery.

The pack has a capacity of 39.05 kWh and provides a CLTC battery range of 225 kilometers. It takes 15 minutes to charge from 30 percent to 80 percent.

The Avatr 11 BEV is powered by a Li-ion ternary battery pack from CATL with a capacity of 116.79 Wh and has a CLTC range of 760 km to 815 km.

These BEV variants can be charged from 30 percent to 80 percent in 25 minutes and from 0 to 80 percent in 35 minutes.

The model continues to come standard with three LiDARs from Huawei and the smart driving system is Huawei's ADS 3.0.

The Avatr 11 is Avatr's first model, initially launched in August 2022.

The SUV was initially available only with BEV options, and on August 21, 2024, Avatr released an extended-range system called Kunlun, which was first used in the Avatr 07 that went on sale on September 26, 2024.

Last December, Avatr updated the Avatr 11 with additional EREV variants, making the model its second to offer both BEV and EREV options.

Avatr sold 10,475 vehicles in March, up 108.83 percent year-on-year and up 102.14 percent from February, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

In the first quarter, Avatr sold 24,483 vehicles, up 68.48 percent year-on-year.

The Avatr 06 is Avatr's second sedan after the Avatr 12, and the 3rd Avatr model to be offered in both BEV and EREV variants.
