Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Group (JAC) and Chery both signed battery swap strategic cooperation framework agreements with Nio today, according to a report in Anhui Daily.

Nio signed with the two automakers following the unveiling of an energy company formed by several companies in Anhui province today, according to the report, which did not provide further details about the battery swap partnerships.

In addition to the two automakers, Anhui Province Energy Group, Anhui Transportation Holding Group, and Nio signed strategic cooperation agreements on energy storage, charging, and battery swap systems, according to the report.

The new company, called Zhongan Energy, was established in Hefei on January 11, marking an important development in Anhui's aftermarket segment of the NEV industry, according to the report in Anhui Daily.

The company is jointly funded by Anhui Province Energy Group, Nio, Gotion High-tech, and an NEV-related industry fund in Anhui, according to the report.

The new company is dedicated to promoting the construction of charging and battery swap infrastructure and platforms, unifying battery swap standards, and battery bank business in Anhui.

The company will also be involved in areas including the NEV aftermarket, virtual power plants, and carbon management to help the development of Anhui's automotive industry, according to the report.

Separately, according to a statement, Anhui Province Energy Group, Anhui Transportation Holding Group, and Nio will support Zhongan's construction of 1,000 stations with energy storage, charging, and battery swap capabilities.

Together, these companies will promote the layout of an open and shared NEV energy storage, charging, and battery swap network, further promoting the openness and interoperability of the battery swap network.

On November 21, Nio and Changan Automobile signed a battery swap business cooperation agreement to partner on the construction and sharing of a battery swap network and the development of battery swap-enabled models, making Changan the first external member of the Nio-led battery swap alliance.

On November 29, Nio and Geely Holding signed a strategic cooperation agreement that will jointly promote the development of swappable battery standards, the construction and sharing of battery swap networks, and the development of battery swap-enabled vehicles.

Nio signed a battery swap alliance business with a new car company on the morning of December 14, allowing the business to expand its circle of friends even further, the company's founder, chairman, and CEO William Li previously said.
