Nio (NYSE: NIO) today added a battery swap station in Macau, its second in the special administrative region.

Located in the area of the Macau Science Center, Nio said it was its 1999th battery swap station in China.

This appears to commemorate Macau's return to China in 1999, although Nio did not explicitly say so.

The battery swap station is located within 3 kilometers of a number of tourist attractions that provide convenient energy supplies for visitors, Nio said in a post on the Nio App.

Nio has also set up several superchargers next to the battery swap station so that it can also provide charging services to electric vehicle owners.

To date, Nio has two battery swap stations and four charging stations providing 18 charging piles in Macau.

Nio completed its first supercharging station in Macau in November 2020 and its first destination charging station in March 2021 there.

Nio's first battery swap station in Macau came online in November 2021, the company's 614th in China.

To date, Nio has a total of 1,999 battery swap stations in China, as well as 3,281 charging stations offering 19,098 charging piles.

Yesterday, the number of Nio's battery swap stations located along highways in China reached 600, covering 482 highway service areas and 118 highway entrances and exits.

These battery swap stations are located in 26 provinces in China, connecting 211 cities.
