Deliveries of the new ES6 have grown steadily since its launch in late May 2023, with monthly sales topping 10,000 units in July, said.

Nio (NYSE: NIO) achieved record deliveries in July, with key model New ES6 seeing explosive numbers in its second full delivery month.

The electric vehicle (EV) maker delivered a record 20,462 vehicles in July, the first time since its inception that it has seen deliveries exceed the 20,000 mark.

That's up 103.56 percent from 10,052 vehicles in the same month last year and up 91.11 percent from 10,707 vehicles in June.

The delivery volume included 14,066 SUVs and 6,396 sedans, Nio said, without releasing breakdown figures for different models.

Deliveries of the new ES6 have grown steadily since its launch in late May 2023, with monthly sales exceeding 10,000 units in July, Nio added.

The company launched the new ES6, which is based on the latest NT 2.0 platform, in China on May 24, and its deliveries began on launch night.

Nio delivered 10,707 vehicles in June, it said on July 1, without providing figures for the new ES6. But according to the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA), the new ES6 contributed 4,677 units, or 43.68 percent, in June.

Today's numbers mean that Nio delivered more than twice as many new ES6s in July compared to June.

In the January-July period, Nio delivered a total of 75,023 vehicles, an increase of 23.23 percent. As of July 31, 2023, Nio's cumulative deliveries reached 364,579 vehicles.

The new ES6 delivered more than 10,000 units in July, contributing about half of Nio's deliveries in July, a common ratio since the release of the first-generation ES6 based on the NT1.0 platform.

The ES6 is the least expensive of Nio's SUVs and has been its main seller for the past several years.

The company released the first-generation ES6 in December 2018 and began delivering the model in June 2019 in China.

In 2019, Nio delivered 20,565 vehicles, including 9,132 ES8s and 11,433 ES6s, with the ES6 contributing 55.59 percent, data monitored by CnEVPost showed.

In 2020, the company delivered 43,728 vehicles, including 10,861 ES8s, 27,945 ES6s and 4,922 EC6s, with the ES6 contributing 63.9 percent.

In 2021, Nio delivered 91,429 vehicles including 20,050 ES8s, 41,474 ES6s and 29,905 EC6s, with a contribution of 45.36 percent from the ES6.

Available data for 2022 shows that in the January-August period, 32,877 units of ES6 were delivered, contributing 46 percent of Nio's total deliveries of 71,556 units in this period.

In addition to the new ES6, Nio began deliveries of the ET5 Touring on June 16, which was released on June 15.

Deliveries of the new ES8 in China began on June 28, and the Nio flagship SUV was released on December 24, 2022 Nio Day 2022 unveiled the new ES8.
