Consumers who lock in their ET5 orders now can expect delivery in 3-4 weeks, according to the latest information from the Nio App, which CnEVPost last checked on January 11, just before the Chinese New Year holiday, when it stood at 7-9 weeks.

The ET5 was launched on Nio Day 2021 in December 2021, with first delivery on September 30, 2022. Including the battery, the sedan has a starting price of RMB 328,000 ($48,350), making it the cheapest Nio model.

Nio launched two new models -- the EC7 coupe SUV and the all-new ES8 -- at Nio Day 2022 on December 24, 2022, with deliveries to begin in May and June 2023, respectively.

After the launch of the EC7 and the new ES8, older Nio models are still available and the Nio vehicles currently being delivered include the old ES8, ES6, EC6, ES7, ET7 and ET5.

The Nio App still does not show the wait times for the old ES8 and EC6.

The latest expected delivery dates for both the Nio ES7 and ET7 are 3-4 weeks, slightly longer than the 2-3 weeks for both when last viewed by CnEVPost.

The ES6 wait time remains at around 2 weeks, consistent with the previous information.

Nio delivered a record 15,815 vehicles in December, bringing full-year 2022 deliveries to 122,486 vehicles, up 34 percent year-on-year. The company's deliveries in January are expected to be announced next Wednesday, February 1.

It is worth noting that the Chinese New Year holiday, which ran from January 21 to 27, is a seasonal factor that will likely result in lower deliveries for the vast majority of automakers.

Nio management had expected the company to see its 300,000th vehicle delivered around January 1, but that did not become a reality and the company has not announced reaching that milestone to date.

Nio saw its 300,000th production vehicle roll off the line on December 12. As of December 31, 2022, the cumulative deliveries of Nio vehicles reached 289,556 units.

Insurance registrations for Nio vehicles were 2,818 in the first week of January, January 2 to January 8, and 2,963 in the second week, data from earlier this month showed. The figure was not yet available for the third week of January.
