Nio maintained growth in August deliveries at a time when its local peers Motors and saw deliveries decline from July.

Nio delivered 10,677 vehicles in August, up 6 percent from 10,052 in July and up 82 percent from 5,880 in the same month last year, data released today showed.

That delivery volume included 7,551 SUVs, and 3,126 sedans.

Nio did not specify deliveries by model, though the ET7 is the only sedan it is currently delivering, meaning the flagship sedan delivered 3,126 units in August, up 26 percent from 2,473 units in July.

Since deliveries began on March 28, the Nio ET7 has accumulated 12,511 deliveries, according to data monitored by CnEVPost.

In addition to the deliveries in China, Nio shipped the first ET7s to Europe in August on three ships.

Notably, Nio began deliveries of its new SUV, the ES7, on August 28, with 398 units of the model delivered in August, the company said today.

In the January-August period, Nio delivered 71,556 vehicles, up 28 percent from 55,767 in the same period last year, data monitored by CnEVPost showed.

As of August 31, Nio's cumulative deliveries reached 238,626 units.

The Nio ES7 was launched on June 15, the company's second model based on the NT 2.0 platform and the first SUV on this second-generation platform. Deliveries of the model began on August 28.

Nio also announced the 2022 Nio ES8, ES6 and EC6 at the time of the ES7 launch, equipped with the intelligent system Alder, which includes in-vehicle intelligent hardware, computing platform, operating system, intelligent algorithms and intelligent applications.

These 2022 models began accepting reservations in June and deliveries began in August.
