The electric vehicle company today entered into a strategic partnership with Henan Transport Investment Expressway Service Area Management Co Ltd, according to an article in the Nio App.

The two will cooperate deeply on the construction of charging and battery swap stations in highway service areas in Henan to build a network of expressway energy replenishment in Henan.

Over the next few years, the two will cooperate to build charging stations and battery swap stations in major highways in Henan as well as other high-traffic service areas in the province.

Major expressways in Henan include G30 Lianyungang-Horgos Highway, G4 Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Highway, G40 Shanghai-Xi'an Highway, and G45 Daqing-Guangzhou Highway.

These stations will greatly reduce the need to queue for charging in service areas during holiday peaks, and the two are working together to create integrated energy recharge stations for highway service areas, according to an article by Nio.

This is yet another agreement signed between Nio and a highway service area operator, as it continues to push forward with the construction of battery swap stations.

On November 23 last year, Nio signed a strategic cooperation agreement in Guangzhou with Guangdong Tongyi Expressway Service Co Ltd, which operates 352 service areas.

On December 15 last year, Nio signed an agreement with Anhui Yida Service Area Management Co Ltd to jointly build battery swap stations in highway service areas in Anhui.

On December 28th last year, Nio announced the signing of a strategic cooperation agreement with Hebei Expressway Group to jointly build a battery swap network in Hebei, northern China, covering the local highways.

To date, Nio has 1,060 battery swap stations in China, 274 of which are located along highways.

The company also has 1,820 charging stations, providing 10,538 charging piles, according to data monitored by CnEVPost.
