BYD (SHE: 002594, HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDF) today reported record June sales of new energy vehicles (NEVs) and later announced a breakdown of major model sales.

The company sold 134,036 NEVs in June, the fourth consecutive month of more than 100,000 units and a 224.02 percent year-on-year increase.

BYD's flagship Han family of sedans sold 25,439 units in June, up 203.35 percent from 8,386 units in the same month last year and up 6.29 percent from 23,934 units in May.

Han EV sold 12,945 units and the Han DM series sold 12,494 units in June.

Since deliveries began in July 2020, Han family models have sold a cumulative 255,444 units, according to data monitored by CnEVPost.

Han is the most expensive of BYD's sedans currently on sale, and its growing sales are expected to contribute more revenue and profit to BYD.

The Han family models include the all-electric Han EV and the hybrid Han DM series, with a current starting price range of RMB 215,800 ($32,200) to RMB 329,800, according to BYD's website.

The BYD Han was launched in July 2020, when a pure electric version, the Han EV, and a plug-in hybrid model, the Han DM, were offered.

On April 10, BYD launched new variants of the Han, Han DM-i, Han DM-p, Han EV Founding Edition, and Han EV Green Edition, and they received 48,136 orders in six hours.

BYD's Song family of SUVs sold 32,077 units in June, virtually unchanged from 31,989 units in May.

Song family models are BYD's mid-price SUVs, with a price range of RMB 92,800 to RMB 180,800, higher than the Yuan series but lower than the Tang series.

To date, the Song family has accumulated sales of more than 1.21 million units, according to BYD.

The BYD Tang family sold 8,134 units in June, slightly lower than the 8,449 units sold in May. To date, the family has sold a cumulative total of 340,000 units.

The BYD Qin family sold 26,623 units in June, up 28.29 percent from 20,753 units in May. To date, the Qin family has sold a total of 650,000 units.

The BYD Yuan family sold 19,731 units in June, up 47.99 percent from 13,333 units in May. Cumulative sales of the series reached 300,000 units since its launch.

The BYD Destroyer 05 sold 7,464 units in June, up 63.76 percent from 4,558 units in May.

The first model of BYD's all-electric e-platform 3.0, the Dolphin, sold 10,376 units in June, up 61.37 percent from 6,430 units in May.
