Tesla Model X

Tesla is offering discounts of RMB 35,000 to RMB 45,000 in China for the full lineup of Model S and Model X, which saw deliveries in the country begin at the end of March.

Starting May 5, Chinese consumers who order a new Model S or Model X and have the vehicle delivered by September 30 will receive the benefit.

Tesla raised the prices of the entire new Model S and Model X lineup in China by about 2 percent, following price increases for the locally produced Model 3 and Model Y three days ago.

Deliveries of the new Model S and Model X have begun in the Chinese mainland, nine years after the first Tesla vehicle entered the country in 2014.

Six imported units of the new Tesla Model S and Model X arrived at Yangshan Port in Shanghai on February 28.

On February 28, 6 units of the new Tesla Model S and Model X entered Chinese customs, according to local media.

The Model S starts at RMB 789,900 ($115,000) in China and the Model X at RMB 879,900.

Tesla's Model S and Model X are both expected to be priced at more than RMB 1 million in China and are expected to make a limited contribution to deliveries.

Tesla is ramping up marketing for the Model S and Model X in China, even though they haven't seen new vehicle deliveries here in the past two years.

Tesla will showcase its entire "S3XY" family of vehicles at the China International Import Expo on November 5.
