Chinese customers hoping for delivery before year-end may opt for in-stock vehicles.

Model Y retail sales in China from January to October totaled 312,331 units, down 16.46 percent year-on-year.

Model Y retail sales in China totaled 51,173 units in September, up 6.16 percent year-on-year, boosted by the launch of the six-seat Model Y L.

Both new projects have now entered the validation testing phase, according to a report by 36kr.

The Model Y saw year-on-year declines in China retail sales for six out of the first eight months, ahead of the deliveries of the six-seat Model Y L that began earlier this month.

Tesla has reduced the price of its 830-km Model 3 in China by RMB 10,000 yuan ($1,400), less than a month after its August 12 launch.

Tesla has reintroduced the turn signal stalk as standard on the Model 3 sedan in China and is offering it as a paid option for vehicles already delivered.

The new Model 3 variant is the longest-range Tesla model to date, with a starting price of RMB 269,500 ($37,490) in China.
