Tesla has registered the Performance Model 3 to China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), as well as the Zero-G wheels and new headlights for the electric car.

China-made Tesla Model 3 delivery date has been changed from 1-2 weeks to 4-6 weeks as customer demand soars, according to information on Tesla China's official website.

Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker Nio (NYSE: NIO)  was facing a tough year in 2019, when financial constraints combined with a plummeting stock price forced a delay in the release of its first production all-electric sedan, which was expected to be released that year.

Tesla's Shanghai Gigafactory has started exporting the Model 3 vehicles to European countries including Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal and Switzerland, according to the SH Observer.

On October 1, the China-made Tesla Model 3 began a new round of price cuts: the Model 3 with standard driving range is adjusted to RMB 249,900 after subsidies, while the one with a longer range follows with a price cut to RMB 309,900 yuan. And it's only been five months since the last price cut.

Tesla has agreed to buy prismatic lithium-iron phosphate batteries from Contemporary Amperex Technology (CATL), China's largest automotive lithium-ion battery maker, for its shorter-range Model 3 cars in China, the Financial Times reported on Wednesday citing people familiar with the matter.

With the increase of Tesla's adoption of Chinese suppliers and the ramp-up of production capacity, the price of Tesla's China-made models will still have room to go down in the future, Cui Dongshu, secretary general of the China Federation of Vehicle Industry Associations said.
