Tesla is preparing a software update for Chinese customers to offer FSD features similar to those available in the US market, according to Bloomberg.

Tesla said last month that it expected to launch FSD in China in the first quarter of 2025, but people familiar said the rollout progress is not expected to mirror the speed as it planned, according to China Daily.

Tesla is allowing Chinese customers who buy its vehicles on or before December 31 to transfer their original FSD to a new vehicle for free. The last time the window was available was from February 7 to March 31.

Tesla plans to launch FSD in China and Europe in the first quarter of 2025, pending regulatory approval. This is a slight delay from previous plans.

Tesla is likely to get regulatory approval to launch FSD in markets such as Europe and China by the end of this year, Elon Musk said.

In central Guangzhou, for example, about 30 percent of roads don't have bike lanes, and e-scooters need to use the same roads as motor vehicles.

Tesla FSD performs extremely well in Silicon Valley and on highways, achieving high scores and handling many road conditions smoothly, Xpeng CEO He Xiaopeng said.
