Avatr will enter more than 40 countries in Southeast Asia and the Middle East, aiming to open more than 90 officially authorized stores and will also enter the European market, it said.

The Hamburg-based Nio House, which opened on June 20, is Nio's fourth in Germany and eighth in Europe.

In the long term, if local sales reach a certain level, say 100,000 units, local production should take place, Nio CEO William Li said.

Nio has also launched the ET7, EL7 (ES7), ET5, ET5T, EL6 (ES6) in Europe since entering the market in 2021.

“In Europe, Nio's commitment to the EV market remains unwavering, and we will continue to serve our users and explore new opportunities within Europe despite protectionism,” Nio said.

In the first quarter of this year, Xpeng's exports reached 61.8 percent of the full year 2023, the company said.

Xpeng appointed JuanMa Lopez as vice president of design center, saying he will drive the evolution and upgrade of the company's design style.

Great Wall Motor plans to close its European headquarters in Munich at the end of August and fire all of the 100 or so local employees, according to a German media report.

The Nio House in Amsterdam is Nio's second in the Netherlands and seventh in Europe.

William Li said that Nio plans to continue expanding in Europe despite tariff uncertainties in the European Union, and that many of the complaints raised by the EU do not make sense.
