BYD has launched the Han EV flash charging edition, upgrading its flagship sedan with the second-generation Blade Battery and flash charging technology.
The Han EV flash charging edition hit the market on Tuesday with a starting price of 179,800 yuan ($26,290).
The updated electric sedan comes in two trims, with the higher-priced variant officially guided at 187,800 yuan.
The model's biggest upgrade lies in the adoption of BYD's second-generation Blade Battery and ultra-fast flash charging technology, which were introduced last month.
Thanks to the new technologies, the vehicle can complete most of its charging in just five minutes at room temperature, and it takes only nine minutes to charge from 10% to 97%.
In extreme cold environments of minus 30 degrees Celsius, the model's charging time only increases by an additional three minutes, solving the industry-wide challenge of slow charging in low temperatures, according to BYD.
The mid to large-size electric sedan measures 4,995 mm in length, 1,910 mm in width, and 1,495 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,920 mm.
It is equipped with a 69.07-kWh battery pack, delivering a maximum range of up to 705 kilometers.
BYD claims the model is the world's lowest energy consumption C-segment sedan, with a comprehensive power consumption of 10.8 kWh per 100 kilometers.
The model is powered by a 240-kW motor, enabling it to accelerate from zero to 100 kilometers per hour in 6.5 seconds.
In terms of smart driving, the Han EV flash charging edition offers an optional God's Eye B advanced driving assistance LiDAR version for 12,000 yuan, supporting high-end features such as smart parking.
The new car's interior comes standard with the DiLink 100 smart cockpit, providing remote vehicle control via mobile phone.
Its comfort configurations have also been upgraded, adding ventilation and heating to the rear seats.
To complement the ultra-fast flash charging experience, BYD has currently built over 5,500 flash charging stations in China.
Consumers who purchase BYD's flash charging edition cars will also enjoy 11 benefits, including one year of free flash charging.
