Chinese humanoid robot maker LimX secures $200 million in Series B funding, with Nio Capital participating

Chinese humanoid robot company LimX Dynamics has completed a $200 million Series B funding round, bolstering its position amid intensifying competition in the sector.

Investors including UAE-based Stone Venture, Oriental Fortune Capital, and CoStone Capital participated in the funding.

Additionally, existing shareholders including Nio Capital and SAIC's Shangqi Capital increased their stakes, according to a Monday statement.

Nio Capital is an independent venture capital firm where William Li, founder, chairman, and CEO of Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO, HKG: 9866), serves as a managing partner.

LimX Dynamics will intensify R&D and market investments in 2026, the company said.

LimX Dynamics was founded in January 2022 and is headquartered in Shenzhen.

In November 2023, Zhang Li, former COO of Chinese autonomous driving technology company WeRide (NASDAQ: WRD), joined LimX Dynamics as co-founder and COO.

LimX Dynamics completed its strategic financing in May 2024 and secured a Series A funding round worth hundreds of millions of RMB in July of the same year.

The company focuses on developing full-size general-purpose humanoid robots and has launched multiple other products, including bipedal robots, according to its website.

Its product lineup includes the LimX Oli full-size general-purpose humanoid robot, the Tron 1 multi-form bipedal robot, and the Tron 2 multi-form robot.

The LimX Oli full-size general-purpose humanoid robot began accepting pre-orders in July 2025, priced starting at RMB 158,000 ($22,730).

Standing 165cm tall, the humanoid robot weighs under 55kg including battery and features 31 degrees of freedom.

Tesla announced on China's Weibo that its third-generation humanoid robot is set to debut soon, which will be the company's first mass-produced humanoid robot.
