Onvo has unveiled a limited-edition of its L60 midsize SUV (sport utility vehicle), continuing a strategy implemented over the past few months to boost sales.
The Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO, HKG: 9866) sub-brand unveiled the L60 Black Knight Edition today, limited to 666 units.
This special edition L60 will hit the market and begin deliveries on December 5, Onvo said, without disclosing pricing details.
The L60 Black Knight Edition primarily differs from the standard model through its black exterior trim, similar to the L90 Black Knight Edition.
The five-seat L60 SUV is Onvo's first model, officially launched on September 19, 2024.
On September 19 this year, Onvo launched the updated L60 to mark its one-year anniversary, maintaining the original pricing.
The L60's starting price, including the battery pack, is RMB 206,900 ($29,280).
Under the BaaS (Battery as a Service) battery rental plan, the starting price drops to RMB 149,900, with monthly battery rental fees starting at RMB 599.
The L90 large three-row SUV, Onvo's second model, was launched on July 31 with a starting price of RMB 265,800 including the battery pack.
On November 21, Onvo launched the L90 Black Knight Edition at the opening day of the 2025 Guangzhou auto show. It's limited to 999 units and deliveries will commence in early December.
The L90 special edition starts at RMB 306,800 including the battery pack -- RMB 41,000 or 15.43 percent higher than the standard L90's base price.
The launch of the L60 Black Knight Edition comes as Onvo begins to face sales pressure.
Onvo delivered 11,794 vehicles in November, marking a 132.07 percent year-on-year increase but a 31.99 percent decrease from October, according to data released by Nio on December 1.
Nio Inc, including the Nio, Onvo, and Firefly brands, delivered 36,275 vehicles in November, marking a 76.31 percent year-on-year increase but a 10.20 percent decrease from October.
Nio founder, chairman, and CEO William Li said during a November 26 communication with domestic media that China's phased-out trade-in subsidies significantly impacted the market.
This was unforeseen by the industry, leading to a sharp decline in new orders across the sector, Li noted at the time.
He added that all models except the Nio ES8, Firefly, and Nio ET9 were affected.
