Leapmotor launches updated C11 SUV with starting price of $20,900

Leapmotor (HKG: 9863) has launched the updated C11 SUV (sport utility vehicle), offering improved specifications and a slight increase in price.

The Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) maker officially rolled out the updated C11 at an event yesterday, with a starting price of RMB 149,800 ($20,900), higher than the previous generation's RMB 148,800 but lower than the RMB 158,800 pre-sales price announced earlier this month.

Leapmotor offers five variants of the updated C11, built on the latest Leap 3.5 platform, including two extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) variants and three battery electric vehicle (BEV) variants.

The starting prices for the two EREV variants are RMB 149,800 and RMB 159,800, respectively.

The three BEV variants start at RMB 149,800, RMB 155,800, and RMB 165,800, respectively.

The vehicle is a five-seat midsize SUV with dimensions of 4,780 mm in length, 1,905 mm in width, and 1,658 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,930 mm. Except for the height, which differs from its predecessor at 1,675 mm, all other dimensions remain unchanged.

The new C11 EREV is equipped with a 1.5-liter engine and a rear motor with a maximum power output of 200 kW and a maximum torque of 320 Nm.

The C11 EREV can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds and supports a maximum speed of 170 km/h.

The updated C11 EREV came standard with a 41.7 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack, offering a pure electric range of 300 km under CLTC standards. With a full tank of fuel and a fully charged battery, the combined range is 1,220 km.

The BEV variants are equipped with a rear motor with a maximum power output of 220 kW and a maximum torque of 360 Nm, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.1 seconds. These BEV variants support a maximum speed of 190 km/h.

The updated C11 BEV is equipped with an LFP battery pack with a capacity of 81.9 kWh, offering a CLTC range of 640 km.

The C11 was first launched on September 29, 2021, based on the Leap 2.0 platform. In March 2024, Leapmotor launched the 2024 C11 based on the Leap 3.0 platform.

The C11 delivered 4,923 units in June, bringing the total deliveries to 256,785 units, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

The updated C11 will be one of the refreshed models Leapmotor has launched intensively this year, following the launch of the updated C16 SUV, updated C10 SUV, updated T03, and the new B10 SUV.

Separately, Leapmotor announced at the event yesterday that its new B01 sedan will be officially launched on July 24. The sedan began pre-sales on June 29.

Leapmotor delivered 48,006 vehicles in June, marking the second consecutive month of record-breaking sales, according to data it released earlier this month.

So far this year, Leapmotor has delivered 221,664 vehicles, representing a year-on-year increase of 155.68 percent.

As of the end of June, Leapmotor's cumulative deliveries since its inception totaled 821,212 vehicles.
