Leapmotor (HKG: 9863) has begun pre-sales of the updated C11 SUV (sport utility vehicle), its latest model update launched this year.
The company began accepting pre-orders for the updated C11 today, with higher pre-sales prices than its predecessor but offering better specifications.
This appears to be laying the groundwork for price reductions at official launch, as pre-sales prices are typically higher than official retail prices.
Leapmotor continues to offer the C11 in both extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) and battery electric vehicle (BEV) versions.
The updated C11 EREV has two variants, with starting prices of RMB 158,800 ($22,170) and RMB 168,800.
This represents an increase of RMB 10,000, or 6.72 percent, compared to the previous C11 EREV's starting price of RMB 148,800.
The updated C11 BEV has two variants with pre-sales prices of RMB 165,800 and RMB 175,800.
This represents an increase of RMB 14,000, or 9.22 percent, compared to the previous C11 BEV's starting price of RMB 151,800.
The updated C11 measures 4,780 mm in length, 1,905 mm in width, and 1,658 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,930 mm. Except for the height, which differs from its predecessor's 1,675 mm, all other dimensions remain unchanged.
The updated C11 BEV is built on an 800-volt high-voltage platform, which is currently the mainstream strategy for mid-to-high-end EVs. Its predecessor was based on a conventional 400-volt platform.
Both BEV variants have a CLTC range of 640 kilometers, while both EREV variants have a battery range of 300 kilometers.
The model features a 17.3-inch central screen, larger than the 14.6-inch screen of its predecessor.
It also comes with an AR-HUD head-up display system with a display area of 60 inches.
The updated C11 comes standard with LiDAR, a feature not commonly found in this price segment.
Leapmotor currently sells the T03, B10, C01, C10, C11, and C16 models in China. Except for the T03 and B10, which are only available as BEV variants, all other models also offer EREV variants.
The company launched the BEV version of the C11 on September 29, 2021, and introduced the EREV variant for the model in February 2023.
Leapmotor delivered 48,006 vehicles in June, marking the second consecutive month of record-breaking sales, according to data released on July 1.
Delivery data for the C11 in June is not yet available, but the SUV delivered 8,246 units in May, bringing the total deliveries to 251,862, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
