Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV) has seen strong initial acceptance for its new G7 SUV (sport utility vehicle), with analysts expecting robust deliveries for the model in the second half of the year.

The G7 received over 10,000 firm orders within the first nine minutes of its launch, Xpeng announced on Weibo following the conclusion of the vehicle's launch event last night.

The model has a starting price of RMB 195,800 ($27,330), lower than the RMB 235,800 price when it began pre-sales on June 11, and also RMB 67,700 (25.69 percent) lower than the Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) Model Y's starting price of RMB 263,500 in China.

Xpeng offers three variants of the G7 -- 602 Max, 702 Max, and 702 Ultra -- with the two higher-priced variants starting at RMB 205,800 and RMB 225,800, respectively.

The company announced today on Weibo that deliveries of the G7 will begin soon. Screenshots shared by some Weibo users show that their orders have been matched with vehicles and are expected to be delivered within 1-2 weeks.

The G7 is the first model to feature Xpeng's in-house developed Turing AI driving chip, offering up to 2,250 TOPS of computing power, making it the EV model with the highest smart driving computing power to date.

However, it is worth noting that only the Ultra variant uses three Turing chips, while the two Max variants are equipped with two Nvidia Orin X chips, offering 508 TOPS of computing power.

Xpeng guided annual sales of about 100,000 units for the G7, equivalent to roughly 8,000 units per month, according to a research note by Deutsche Bank analyst Wang Bin's team released today.

The team expects Xpeng to deliver 55,000 G7 units in the second half of 2025, in line with the company's projections.

The G7 has a body size of 4,892 mm in length, 1,925 mm in width, and 1,655 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,890 mm. Its competitors will include Nio's (NYSE: NIO) Onvo L60 and BYD's (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) Tang pure electric SUV, the team noted.

The G7 is Xpeng's first all-new model this year, as the company launched facelifts for several existing models earlier this year.

Deutsche Bank expects Xpeng's deliveries to reach 134,000 units in the third quarter and 149,000 units in the fourth quarter, driving full-year 2025 sales to 480,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 153 percent.

Xpeng delivered 34,611 vehicles in June, bringing the first-half delivery volume to 197,189 units, a year-on-year increase of 279.01 percent, surpassing its 2024 full-year total delivery volume of 190,068 units.

Xpeng aims to double its delivery volume compared to 2024.
