China NEV retail up 25% year-on-year to 1.07 million in Jun, preliminary CPCA data show

China NEV retail up 25% year-on-year to 1.07 million in Jun, preliminary CPCA data show

China's overall new energy vehicle (NEV) retail sales continued to grow last month.

In June, China's passenger NEV retail sales came in at 1.071 million units, marking the second consecutive month above the 1 million mark, according to preliminary data released today by the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).

This represents a year-on-year increase of 25 percent and a 4 percent increase from May.

So far this year, China's cumulative retail sales of passenger NEVs have reached 5.429 million units, up 32 percent year-on-year, according to the CPCA.

China's wholesale sales of passenger NEVs in June totaled 1.259 million units, up 28 percent year-on-year and up 3 percent from May.

So far this year, China's cumulative wholesale sales of passenger NEVs have reached 6.465 million units, up 38 percent year-on-year.

In June, China's total passenger vehicle retail sales reached 2.032 million units, up 15 percent year-on-year and up 5 percent month-on-month.

Year-to-date, China's total passenger vehicle retail sales stood at 10.849 million units, up 10 percent year-on-year.

This means that China's NEV retail penetration rate was 52.7 percent in June and 50.04 percent year-to-date.

In the first week of June, June 1-8, the average daily retail sales of passenger vehicles in China were 42,102 units, up 17 percent year-on-year but down 14 percent compared to the same period last month.

In the second week of June, June 9-15, the average daily retail sales of passenger vehicles in China were 52,694 units, up 23 percent year-on-year but down 5 percent compared to the same period last month.

In the third week of June, June 16-22, China's daily average retail sales of passenger vehicles totaled 80,525 units, up 30 percent year-on-year and 42 percent compared to the same period last month.

In the fourth week of June, June 23-30, China's daily average retail sales of passenger vehicles were 95,374 units, up 3 percent year-on-year and up 13 percent compared to the same period last month.

In June, China's total wholesale sales of passenger vehicles reached 2.473 million units, up 14 percent year-on-year and 7 percent month-on-month.

From June 1 to 8, China's average daily wholesale sales of passenger vehicles were 38,836 units, up 10 percent year-on-year but down 2 percent month-on-month.

From June 9 to 15, the average daily wholesale sales volume of passenger vehicles in China was 57,683 units, up 38 percent year-on-year and 9 percent month-on-month.

From June 16 to 22, the average daily wholesale sales volume of passenger vehicles in China was 74,767 units, up 1 percent year-on-year and up 17 percent month-on-month.

From June 23 to 30, the average daily wholesale sales volume of passenger vehicles in China was 154,429 units, up 15 percent year-on-year and 18 percent month-on-month.

Year-to-date, the wholesale sales volume of passenger vehicles in China came in at 13.263 million units, up 12 percent year-on-year.

In the first half of the year, China's NEV wholesale sales are estimated to reach 6.47 million units, up 38 percent year-on-year.
