A Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI) executive has shared delivery figures for the refreshed Li L6 SUV (sport utility vehicle), demonstrating the performance of a model that is critical to the company.
Cumulative deliveries of the refreshed Li L6 exceeded 10,000 units, representing an average of about one unit every two minutes, Li Xinyang, the company's product line head, wrote on Weibo yesterday.
Li Auto launched the updated L-series of extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) models, including the Li L6, on May 8 and began their deliveries on May 9.
Li Auto's other models in the L-series include the Li L7, Li L8, Li L9. The company also has a battery electric vehicle (BEV) model -- the Li Mega MPV (multi-purpose vehicle).
The Li L6, Li Auto's least expensive model currently on sale, is available in Pro and Max trims, with starting prices of RMB 249,800 ($34,750) and RMB 279,800, respectively.
The model is currently the main seller of Li Auto, with 61,102 vehicles delivered in January-April, contributing 48.19 percent of the 126,803 Li Auto deliveries in the same period, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
It's worth noting that the updated Li L6 doesn't seem to be performing as well as Li Auto expected.
Li Auto lowered its 2025 sales target from 700,000 units to 640,000 units, local media 21jingji said in a May 21 story.
This was mainly due to the fact that orders received after the release of the updated Li L6 did not greatly exceed expectations, the report said, citing an industry source close to Li Auto.
Li Auto delivered 33,939 vehicles in April, of which the Li L6 delivered 16,755 vehicles in April, contributing 49.37 percent of the company's monthly deliveries, data compiled by CnEVPost showed.
The Li L7 delivered 8,102 vehicles in April, making it the second-highest delivering Li Auto model with a 23.87 percent contribution.
The Li L8 delivered 5,178 vehicles in April, contributing 15.26 percent of Li Auto deliveries for the month, while the Li L9 delivered 3,801 vehicles in April, contributing 11.20 percent of Li Auto deliveries for the month.
