- The Zeekr 8X could be a smaller and less expensive hybrid SUV than the Zeekr 9X.
- This is the first time Zeekr management has mentioned the new model Zeekr 8X.

Zeekr (NYSE: ZK) is set to launch a new mid-size SUV (sport utility vehicle), the Zeekr 8X, later this year, which is expected to further diversify its lineup of hybrid models.
The electric vehicle (EV) maker will launch the Zeekr 8X in the fourth quarter, CEO Andy An said today on Geely Auto's first-quarter earnings conference.
Including the already launched Lynk & Co 900 and Zeekr 007 GT, the Zeekr and Lynk & Co brands will introduce a total of five new models this year, An said.
Lynk & Co will launch a hybrid version of the Lynk & Co Z10 mid to large-size sedan later this quarter, and Zeekr will launch the Zeekr 9X, and Zeekr 8X in the third and fourth quarters, respectively, according to An.
This is the first time that Zeekr management has mentioned the new model Zeekr 8X, though no further details were revealed.
Judging by its naming, the Zeekr 8X is supposed to be a smaller and less expensive hybrid SUV than the Zeekr 9X hybrid SUV.
Zeekr gave the Zeekr 9X its world debut on April 23, the first day of the Shanghai auto show, saying the model's official launch will be in the third quarter.
The SUV is powered by CATL's (SHE: 300750) Freevoy Battery and has a pure electric range of over 380 kilometers, Zeekr said at the time.
CATL introduced the Freevoy Battery for hybrids in October 2024, which offers a range of more than 400 kilometers and supports 4C fast charging, thus enabling a battery electric vehicle (BEV)-like experience in hybrids.
The Zeekr 9X redefines high-performance electric driving and can accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just three seconds, Zeekr previously said.
On April 28, Zeekr's sister brand Lynk & Co launched its flagship hybrid SUV, the Lynk & Co 900, with a starting price of RMB 309,900 ($42,480).
The integration of the two brands was completed on February 14, when Zeekr said it would launch one new model each in the second through fourth quarters.
That would include a full-size flagship SUV in the third quarter and a large luxury SUV in the fourth quarter, both of which will feature super-electric hybrid technology, Zeekr said at the time.
