Lynk & Co has launched its flagship hybrid SUV (sport utility vehicle), the Lynk & Co 900, to target the large SUV market in China.
The automaker officially rolled out the Lynk & Co 900 at an event in Shanghai today, with a starting price of RMB 309,900 ($42,480), lower than the RMB 330,000 pre-sales starting price announced a month ago.
The model is Lynk & Co's first to be launched after its merger with sister brand Zeekr into the Zeekr Group, which was completed on February 14.
The Zeekr brand will expand upwards in the premium market, while Lynk & Co will expand its reach by diversifying its offerings, Zeekr Group CEO Andy An said at today's launch event.
The Lynk & Co 900 is available in four variants with starting prices of RMB 309,900, RMB 336,900, RMB 366,900 and RMB 416,900 respectively.
Lynk & Co is offering limited time entitlements for the model, allowing the starting prices to be lowered to RMB 289,900, RMB 316,900, RMB 346,900, and RMB 396,900 respectively.
Based on the SPA Evo platform, the Lynk & Co 900 is 5,240 mm long, 1,999 mm wide, 1,810 mm high and has a wheelbase of 3,160 mm, Lynk & Co's largest vehicle to date.
This new energy vehicle (NEV) platform supports flexible seating positions including rotating seats, and the pure flat-floor design eliminates the traditional transmission tunnels.
The Lynk & Co 900 features a 2+2+2 six-seat layout with 180° and 90° rotating second row seats.
The two less expensive variants are powered by a 1.5T engine with 140 kW, or 190 Ps. They both have dual electric motors, with the front motor peaking at 160 kW and the rear motor peaking at 230 kW.
The powertrain has a peak power of 530 kW and allows both variants to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds.
The other two variants have a 2.0T engine with a maximum power of 187 kW, or 254 Ps.
The variant that starts at a price of RMB 366,900 gets dual motors with 123 kW of peak power from the front motor and 230 kW from the rear motor. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in 4.6 seconds.
The highest-priced variant comes with triple motors with a combined peak power of 650 kW and can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.3 seconds.
The Lynk & Co 900 comes with lithium ternary batteries as standard, with the two less expensive variants having a pack capacity of 44.85 kWh and a CLTC battery range of 220 kilometers.
The other two variants carry the Freevoy Battery with a capacity of 52.38 kWh from CATL for hybrids, with CLTC battery ranges of 280 kilometers and 268 kilometers respectively.
CATL launched the Freevoy Battery on October 24, 2024, with the aim of providing a driving experience similar to that of a battery electric vehicle (BEV) for hybrid vehicles.
The Lynk & Co 900 has a combined range of up to 1,443 kilometers when fully fueled and charged.
The Lynk & Co 900 comes with a roof-mounted LiDAR as standard, and its two higher-priced variants are powered by Nvidia's Thor smart driving chip with 700 TOPS of processing power and the G-Pilot H7 package to support door-to-door navigation capability.
The two lower-priced variants use the Nvidia Orin X smart driving chip with the G-Pilot H5 software package.
Lynk & Co was born in 2017 as a joint venture between Geely Auto and Volvo Cars.
Last November, Zeekr announced a series of deals that would give it a 51 percent stake in Lynk & Co. The deal closed in February of this year.
The Lynk & Co 900 is expected to compete with large SUVs including Li Auto's (NASDAQ: LI) Li L9, Denza's N9, and Aito's M9, in a market that is becoming increasingly competitive.
The large SUV appears to have achieved good initial acceptance, with Lynk & Co announcing shortly after the launch that the Lynk & Co 900 had received more than 10,000 firm orders within an hour of availability.
