's (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) premium brand Yangwang unveiled two variants of the U8 SUV (sport utility vehicle) a year ago at the Shanghai auto show, but so far only one of them has hit the market. Now the other variant is on the way.

The Yangwang U8 Off-road Master Edition will be launched at the Beijing auto show on April 25, the brand announced on Weibo today.

The off-road experience will be taken to a new level and safety will be upgraded, Yangwang said on Weibo.

The 2024 Beijing auto show will be held from April 25-May 4, with media days from April 25-26 and public days from April 27-May 4.

Yangwang's booth is located at W105 in Hall W1 of the China International Exhibition Center (Shunyi), next to BYD Auto and Fang Cheng Bao at booths W106 and W101 respectively.

Yangwang's press event at the Beijing auto show will be held on April 25 from 10:20-10:40 pm local time.

BYD launched the Yangwang brand on January 5, 2023, to target the ultra-luxury market priced in the RMB 1 million ($138,060) class.

On April 18, 2023, the first day of the Shanghai auto show, Yangwang began pre-sales of the U8 in two variants -- Premium Edition and Off-road Master Edition -- both with a pre-sale price of RMB 1,098,000 yuan.

The Yangwang U8 Premium Edition comes with richer features, while the Off-road Master Edition boasts more room for modifications and additional support for custom off-road modes.

The Yangwang U8 Premium Edition went on sale on September 20, 2023, with a starting price of RMB 1,098,000, as in the pre-sale.

Deliveries of the Yangwang U8 Premium Edition began in November 2023, with a cumulative total of 5,523 units delivered by the end of March, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

In addition to the U8, Yangwang launched the U9 on February 25, with only one version of the 2-seat electric supercar available at a starting price of RMB 1.68 million.

Yangwang also began previewing another new model, the U7, in January, saying it would be a flagship sedan with a price tag in the RMB 1 million range.

On January 15, the Yangwang U7 appeared in a model filing catalog from China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, setting the stage for its official launch.
