's (OTCMKTS: BYDDF) premium brand Yangwang has unveiled more specs and images of its first sedan, the U7, after a surprise announcement of the model earlier this week.

The Yangwang U7 measures 5,265 mm in length, 1,998 mm in width and 1,517 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,160 mm, according to the brand's announcement yesterday.

The sedan's wind resistance coefficient is Cd 0.195, the lowest among production sedans worldwide, Yangwang said.

Notably, smartphone giant said late last month that the Xiaomi SU7, the first model from its EV division Xiaomi EV, also has the lowest wind resistance in the world at Cd 0.195.

For EVs, range is a key factor in consumer buying decisions. A lower drag coefficient means lower power consumption.

The Yangwang U7 is smaller than the ET9 unveiled by (NYSE: NIO) at Nio Day 2023 on December 23, which has length, width and height of 5,101 mm, 1,987 mm and 1,509 mm, respectively, and a wheelbase of 3,060 mm.

The Nio ET9 is already available for pre-order with a pre-sale price of RMB 800,000 ($111,680), with deliveries set to begin in the first quarter of 2025.

Yangwang revealed the U7 on January 10, saying it will be the new energy flagship sedan in the RMB 1 million class and will have more than 1,000 horsepower.

The front of the Yangwang U7 continues the design of the Yangwang U9 supercar, with a LiDAR on the roof, the latest images show.

BYD unveiled the Yangwang brand in January 2023, along with the e⁴ technology platform, saying that all future models of the premium brand will be based on the platform.

Yangwang's first production vehicle is the Yangwang U8 off-road SUV, which went on sale on September 20, 2023, with deliveries beginning on November 24.

The Yangwang U8 has a starting price of RMB 1,098,000 and 408 units were delivered in November and 1,593 in December, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

BYD unveiled the Yangwang U9 when it launched the Yangwang brand a year ago, and the electric supercar does not yet have a launch date.
