The Leapmotor C10 looks a lot like 's Li L7 and Li L8, especially the roof LiDAR and the front and rear run-through lights.

Leapmotor unveiled its first global model, the C10, in Germany a month ago, and now the model has entered a regulatory filing catalog in China with an interesting exterior design.

China's Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) released its latest catalog of models that will soon be allowed to be sold for public comment today, and the battery electric vehicle (BEV) version of the Leapmotor C10 is included.

The public can submit feedback between October 17 and October 23. Entry into the catalog is the last major regulatory process by which a model can be allowed to be sold in China.

There is only one version of the C10 BEV in the catalog, with length, width and height of 4,739 mm, 1,900 mm and 1,680 mm respectively, and a wheelbase of 2,825 mm.

The car is powered by an electric motor with a maximum power of 170 kW, carries a roof-mounted LiDAR and uses lithium iron phosphate batteries supplied by CALB.

Although Leapmotor had shared some images of the C10 BEV on its social media channels early last month, they did not give the impression of a similar design to other models.

The latest filing images of the model show that it looks a lot like the less expensive Li L7 and Li L8 from extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) maker Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI), especially the roof LiDAR and the run-through taillight and headlight design.

Founded in 2015, Leapmotor's models on sale include the mini EV T03, coupe model S01, flagship SUV model C11, and flagship sedan C01.

Leapmotor's deliveries began to decline significantly in the fourth quarter of last year, falling to 1,139 units by January of this year. In an effort to reverse the sales decline, Leapmotor unveiled plans last year to release EREV models to target the larger market for plug-in hybrids.

On March 1, Leapmotor officially launched the C11 EREV, and on September 20, the company launched the C01 EREV.

The Leapmotor C10 was unveiled at the Munich auto show in Germany on September 4 and is its first global model.

The C10 is Leapmotor's mid-size SUV based on the latest Leap 3.0 architecture and will be offered in BEV and EREV versions, the company said at the time.

Leapmotor has not yet filed for a C10 EREV, which means the BEV version is expected to be the first available for the C10 series, similar to what the company has done previously.

Leapmotor delivered a record 15,800 vehicles in September, up 43.13 percent year-on-year and up 11.35 percent from 14,190 in August, according to figures it announced on October 1.
