's new sub-brand Fang Cheng Bao has released new images of its first model, showing more details.

Fang Cheng Bao today share two images on Weibo showing what the front and the side of its first model, the Leopard 5, look like.

BYD officially unveiled the Fang Cheng Bao name on June 9, the fifth in its brand matrix after the Dynasty, Ocean, Denza and Yangwang.

BYD has previously used the codename SF to refer to the new brand's first model, saying it's a hardcore SUV expected to launch this year.

On July 4, Fang Cheng Bao announced that its first model will be called the Leopard 5 ("豹5" in Chinese).

A poster released by Fang Cheng Bao today reads "Born To Be Wild," hinting at the model's off-road capabilities.

The poster also reads "Coming Soon," implying that the model is not far from being launched.

In March, CnEVPost obtained several spy photos of the model that showed the number "2316" emblazoned on the body.

The 2 in this string of numbers refers to dual motors, the 3 to triple locks, the 1 to a new platform, and the 6 to a June release, CnEVPost learned at the time.

However, in an image posted by Fang Cheng Bao on June 21, the number on the car has changed to "2318," suggesting that the model's release will be pushed back to August from the previously planned June.

BYD has not provided pricing information for Fang Cheng Bao's first model in the past few months of previews, but CnEVPost previously learned that the model will be aimed at the 400,000 yuan ($55,800) to 600,000 yuan market.

On July 14, Fang Cheng Bao unveiled its logo, which looks like an arrow placed horizontally.
