Motors on Friday launched the G3i, a facelifted version of the Xpeng G3 SUV, with a price range of RMB 149,800 ($23,100) - 185,800 yuan after subsidies.

Pre-orders for the new car have been opened and deliveries will start in September this year.

The biggest change to the G3i compared to the G3 is the front design similar to the P7 and P5, which the company calls the X Robot Face.

It is available in two NEDC range versions of 460km and 520km, and includes four specifications - the G3i 460G priced at RMB 149,800, the G3i 460N at RMB 172,800, the G3i 520G at RMB 165,800, and the G3i 520G at RMB 185,800.

The model is available in a new cyan color version and more than 40 color change films to cater to the preferences of young consumers.

With a length, width and height of 4450/1820/1610mm and a wheelbase of 2625mm, it is no different from the G3. However, its door handles have been replaced with hidden designs.

It supports functions including mobile app virtual key, power tailgate, multi-function exterior mirrors, pollen filter, V2L external discharge function, and remote air conditioning control.

The G3i is equipped with XPILOT 2.5 automatic driving assistance system with 5 HD cameras, 3 millimeter-wave radars, and 12 ultrasonic radars.

These configurations allow it to achieve full speed range ACC adaptive range, ALC automatic lane change assist, LCC lane centering assist, LKA lane keeping, and ATC adaptive cornering cruise functions.

Its OS chip is Qualcomm Snapdragon 820A, giving it the same full-scene voice capabilities as the P7 for continuous dialogue.

It remains the same as the G3 in terms of power, with a permanent magnet synchronous motor on the front axle, with a maximum output of 145kW and peak torque of 300Nm.

It is equipped with lithium iron phosphate batteries with 55.9kWh, 57.5kWh, 66.5kWh capacity options, and range options of 460km and 520km.

The current G3 is manufactured at Haima Motor's plant in Zhengzhou, central China, while the G3i will be produced at Xpeng's own plant in Zhaoqing, Guangdong.
