Ping An Property Insurance does not have a suspension of insurance coverage for new vehicles in some regions, the company said in response to a previous media report.

Citing insurance channels, car owners and insurance salespeople, Sina Tech said earlier today that Ping An has refused to insure new Tesla vehicles in some provinces and cities and that its policies are being tightened for those who already have insurance contracts with the company and need to renew their policies.

Shanghai Securities News quoted Ping An as saying, "We have verified that our company has not suspended new insurance for Tesla owners in some provinces and cities."

Ping An continues to provide a full range of insurance coverage and service support to customers who are owners of traditional and new energy vehicles by expanding insurance liabilities and providing value-added services, the company said.

Tesla said that everything is going well with Ping An regarding the car insurance business. Tesla will also continue to improve its product and service requirements to provide users with better and more reliable services.

The earlier report by Sina Tech said the provinces and cities involved in the suspension of new car insurance include Henan, Zhejiang, Shaanxi, and Beijing and Shanghai.

Car owners and insurance practitioners in Guangxi and Hainan said they have not yet encountered such a situation, the report said.

A screenshot of a conversation with a Ping An salesperson shown by a Nanning car owner shows that his vehicle can still be insured with Ping An Insurance, even though "my car was repaired six times in the last insurance year."
