Tesla is conducting a huge recall in China, involving almost all vehicles sold in the country since 2019. This is related to just the vehicle software though, and the company will provide fixes via OTA.

The estimated delivery time for the Model 3 in China is 6-8 weeks, a significant extension from the previous 1-3 weeks.

Tesla has built a new supercharging station in light-rich Lhasa, which cleverly utilizes a solar power generation and storage system to achieve an efficient cycle of clean energy.

Tesla was previously sued by an owner for alleged sales fraud, and now the final verdict shows that Tesla is required to return the purchase price of the car to the owner for RMB 778,200 ($120,304) and pay the same amount of compensation.

Tesla's sales in China plunged in April from March, but the numbers have rebounded sharply in May as production capacity has recovered.

Tesla on Friday raised the starting price of the Tesla Model S Plaid in China by RMB 60,000 ($9,395) to RMB 1,059,990. The model was previously priced at RMB 999,990.

The China-made Model Y is currently powered by ternary lithium batteries supplied by LG. Lower-cost LFP batteries would mean a lower price for the model in China.

The Tesla Model Y came in second with 12,728 sales, and the Model 3 was third with 9,208 sales.

Tesla China's retail sales in May reached 21,936 units, the CPCA said, adding that Tesla China exported 11,527 vehicles in May.

The accident had nothing to do with the Tesla-branded vehicle itself, and police identified that the driver was fully responsible.
