Xpeng reported second-quarter earnings today, and Deutsche Bank analyst Edison Yu's team provided their first impressions.

Xpeng guided for vehicle deliveries in the range of 39,000 to 41,000 units in the third quarter, meaning it expects to deliver a total of 27,992 to 29,992 vehicles in August and September.

Nio's booth is located at H1010, Xpeng is at H1009, and Li Auto is at H1102. BYD and its sub-brands are in Hall 3.

Earlier today, a rumor that Xpeng would acquire Maserati spread widely on Chinese social media.

Between August 1 and August 13, Tesla vehicles had 25,400 insurance registrations in China, Nio 7,000, Li Auto 13,500, and Xpeng 5,200.

Deutsche Bank expects Xpeng to report mixed results for the second quarter, while the outlook for the third and fourth quarters will show meaningful sequential improvement driven by a strong G6 order book.

Before the G6's significant capacity ramp-up, the P7 continues to be Xpeng's most delivered model, contributing 44.58 percent of deliveries in July.

Major EV makers saw insurance registrations in China generally decline last week, as the beginning of the month usually sees lower numbers, with Tesla being one of the few to grow.

Xpeng delivered 23,205 vehicles in the second quarter, exceeding the upper end of the company's guidance range of 21,000 to 22,000 units.

"I don't want to build a China-only company, I want to build a global company," Xpeng CEO said.
