China has tightened its regulations on NEV production qualifications since 2017, and the production qualifications Xpeng has received are among the very few.

Xpeng CEO said the company expects to see the industrial park bring in 80 to 100 companies from the supply chain in the next 2 to 3 years.

Xpeng resumed double-shift production at the Zhaoqing plant in mid-May and will accelerate deliveries to meet customer demand.

This means Xpeng could see 480 vehicles roll off the line every 12 hours, corresponding to an annual capacity of about 175,200 vehicles on single shift.

The project is expected to generate an average of 21.33 million kilowatt hours of electricity per year, equivalent to the power used by more than 50,000 people for one year.

While its factory in Guangzhou is still under construction and a project in Wuhan has just started, Xpeng Motors' earliest factory is starting to expand.

The project has a planned annual capacity of 100,000 units and will achieve an annual output of more than 30 billion yuan when it reaches production, Xpeng said.
