Hyper said its solid-state batteries will utilize 100 percent solid-state electrolytes with features including ultra-high energy density and ultra-wide operating temperature range.

IM Motors claimed that the IM L6 is the first sedan in China with crab walk capability and will be powered by solid-state batteries to give a range of more than 1,000 kilometers.

Nio's 150-kWh battery packs, of which some have been produced recently, are expected to begin entering service in late April, William Li said today.

The IM L6 will be built on a quasi-900 V high-voltage platform and will be the industry's first to feature ultra-fast-charging solid-state batteries in a production vehicle, IM Motors co-CEO said.

This is the largest-capacity battery pack mass-produced in the Chinese passenger car market, and Nio models equipped with the pack have a range of up to 1,055 km, Nio said.

China already has 10 GWh of capacity for solid-state batteries, with more than 128 GWh planned for medium-term capacity, CITIC Securities said.

Changan and Ganfeng will set up a joint venture based on equal shareholding to accelerate solid-state battery development and manufacturing.

WeLion expects to begin supplying semi-solid-state battery cells to Nio in volume in April 2024, depending on Nio's needs.
