Geely is recalling 1,473 Polestar 4 EVs equipped with 86 kWh battery packs due to thermal runaway risks under extreme conditions.

As part of the agreement, Transport Canada will certify new Chinese EVs within just eight weeks, Bloomberg reported.

Polestar has shut down its final direct store in China, transitioning primarily to an online sales model in the country.

Production of the Polestar 3 has begun in Chengdu, China, with additional production expected to begin in the US in mid-2024, Polestar said.
