Insurance Registrations

Between November 1 and November 12, Nio vehicles had 5,700 insurance registrations in China, Xpeng 6,100, Li Auto 15,400, and Tesla 22,900.

Nio's insurance registrations were down 8.7 percent last week compared to the previous week, Xpeng was down 18.97 percent and Li Auto was down 14 percent as deliveries are usually slow at the beginning of the month.

Between October 1 and October 29, insurance registrations were 14,100 for Nio, 15,200 for Xpeng, 36,800 for Li Auto and 27,300 for Tesla in China.

Between October 1 and October 22, Li Auto was at 26,800, Nio at 9,500, Xpeng at 9,400 and Tesla at 16,500 units.

As of October 15, Li Auto was at 17,800 so far this month, Tesla at 8,400, Nio at 5,100 and Xpeng at 4,600 units.

Most of last week was covered by China's long National Day holiday -- which ran from September 29 to October 6.

Between September 1 and September 24, Nio was at 13,900 units, Xpeng at 10,400 units, Li Auto at 29,200 units, Tesla at 35,900 units and BYD at 176,200 units.

Between September 1 and September 17, Li Auto was 20,100, Nio was 9,900 and Xpeng was 6,900.

Most EV makers saw a dip in insurance registrations last week, as it was the beginning of the month, when deliveries are usually slow, while the week before included the last days of August, when deliveries are usually strong.

Xpeng saw insurance registrations of 3,100 units last week, down 6.06 percent from 3,300 units in the previous week. BYD saw registrations of 50,800 units last week, down 1.74 percent from the previous week.
