Tesla's share of the BEV market in China was 11.50 percent in February, down from 12.56 percent in January.

The Model Y SUVs produced by Giga Shanghai since January 1 are equipped with an updated suspension system for improved comfort.

Tesla will halt some production at its Shanghai plant until the end of February in order to begin rolling out a revamped version of the Model 3 in the Chinese market, according to Bloomberg.

Tesla's deliveries in China in January were down 36 percent from 41,926 vehicles in December.

Tesla plans to produce an average of nearly 20,000 vehicles a week at its Shanghai plant in February and March, with monthly production roughly reaching September levels, according to Reuters.

For the full year 2022, Tesla delivered 439,770 vehicles in China, up 37.11 percent from 320,743 vehicles in 2021.

It's not an established practice to shut down operations for an extended period of time during the Chinese New Year.

Vehicle production at Tesla's Shanghai plant will undergo its annual production line maintenance work this week as planned, but other workshops, including charging pile production, were not suspended, a Tesla China source said.

Tesla is aiming to produce slightly more than 20,000 Model Ys in the last three weeks of December, including the week when output is suspended, according to Reuters.

In addition to shortening shifts, the onboarding process for some new employees at Tesla's Shanghai plant has been suspended, according to Bloomberg.
