GAC Group is actively exploring the adoption of battery swap on more or even all of its new models, the company's general manager Feng Xingya said.

GAC Aion received orders for more than 18,000 units in August, another record high, the company claimed.

GAC Aion will increase its share capital and introduce strategic investors and actively seek to go public at an appropriate time, GAC Group said.

On the company's A480 supercharger, vehicles can be charged at a high rate of 6C, adding 200 kilometers of range in five minutes and charging from 0 to 80 percent in eight minutes.

GAC Aion will officially launch its A480 supercharger matched with graphene-based fast-charging batteries on August 30, cls.cn quoted people familiar with the matter as saying Friday.

GAC Aion has already launched models including the Aion Y, Aion LX and Aion V.

Individual users accounted for 77 percent of the number of license plate registrations for GAC Aion models from January to June this year, while corporate users accounted for 23 percent, the company said.

GAC aims to reach 3.5 million vehicles in both production and sales by 2025, with a compound annual growth rate of more than 10 percent and a market share of more than 12 percent.

The company's 3C high-rate fast charging technology enables vehicles to be charged from 0 to 80 percent in 16 minutes, with a charging time of 10 minutes for 30 percent to 80 percent charge.

The brand has two other models based on the same platform as the AH8, including an MPV and a high-end coupe.
