February is traditionally a slow month for car sales, and BYD's Dynasty and Ocean series models have seen price increases since February 1.

BYD sold 43,173 all-electric passenger vehicles and 44,300 plug-in hybrid passenger vehicles in February.

The project has a total investment of RMB 13.5 billion ($2.14 billion) and is designed to have a total capacity of 45 GWh.

BYD has selected Baidu as its smart driving supplier, which will provide BYD with ANP smart driving products and human-machine co-driving maps, local media reported.

BYD's fuel economy-focused Han DM-i, and performance-focused Han DM-p models will soon be available for pre-order.

The project is expected to reach full design capacity in about a year, a BYD Semiconductor executive said.

BYD's blade battery could enter India by being fitted in Toyota models, and the company is already recruiting for business related to it, local media said.

The BYD Yuan Plus is also available for pre-order in Australia and will enter Singapore in the second quarter.

BYD has signed a memorandum of understanding with an Uzbek company and agreed to study the feasibility of jointly producing electric passenger cars and electric buses in Uzbekistan, a report said.

The price range of BYD Seal is expected to be in RMB 220,000 ($34,710) - 280,000, and it could be unveiled around the Beijing Auto Show in April, according to local media.
