Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI) saw a slight year-on-year increase in its April deliveries, with the pure electric SUV (sport utility vehicle) model Li i6 taking absolute dominance in the sales breakdown.
The Chinese EV maker delivered a total of 34,085 vehicles in April, edging up 0.43% year-on-year, but dropping 16.97% from March.
The Li i6 was the highest-selling Li Auto model in April, delivering 21,024 vehicles in the month and contributing 61.68% of total deliveries.
The Li i6's monthly deliveries fell 13.12% sequentially, but its production pace is accelerating. The model saw its 100,000th mass-produced vehicle roll off the assembly line on April 10.
The extended-range SUV model Li L6 delivered 9,434 vehicles in April, plunging 66.82% year-on-year and dropping 31.61% sequentially. The model contributed 16.31% of Li Auto's total deliveries in April.
Li Auto's current product lineup includes the L-series extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) models, the i-series pure electric SUV models, and the Li Mega MPV (multi-purpose vehicle).
The Li i6 and Li L6 are the lowest-priced models in their respective product lines, both starting at 249,800 yuan ($36,770).
Deliveries of other L-series models also saw significant declines. The Li L7 delivered 2,834 units in April, down 65.02% year-on-year, accounting for 8.31% of total deliveries.
The Li L8 delivered 1,457 units in April, plunging 71.86% year-on-year and dropping 10.17% from March. The model contributed 4.27% of the month's deliveries.
Li Auto's first pure electric SUV model, the Li i8, delivered 2,088 units in April, up 0.43% year-on-year, accounting for 6.13% of total deliveries.
Notably, deliveries of the Li Mega MPV increased to 670 units in April, surging 550.49% year-on-year and growing 16.32% from March.
Deliveries of the current Li L9 shrank drastically to 452 units in April. The model plummeted 88.11% year-on-year and plunged 70.84% sequentially.
The drop is primarily attributed to the product line transition. Some media outlets previously reported that the Li L9 stopped accepting new orders from late March, with the factory prioritizing capacity switching for the new L9 Livis.
Consumers are currently in a wait-and-see period for the new model. Li Auto plans to officially launch the Li L9 Livis on May 15.
The Li L9 Livis began pre-sales on April 24 with a pre-sales price of 559,800 yuan. The model is equipped with two M100 smart driving chips developed in-house by Li Auto.
In the first four months of this year, Li Auto delivered a cumulative total of 129,227 vehicles, recording a 1.91% year-on-year growth.
