- From April 30 to May 6, Nio's 3,839 battery swap stations completed 1,031,469 battery swap services.
- Nio's charging facilities also saw a peak in usage, with over 87% of the power serving EV users of other brands.

Nio Inc (NYSE: NIO) provided about 1 million battery swap services during the just-concluded May Day holiday, highlighting users' growing reliance on its power network during peak travel periods.
From April 30 to May 6, the Chinese EV maker's 3,839 battery swap stations completed 1,031,469 battery swap services, according to a Nio Power operations report released on Thursday.
Nio Inc currently has three brands — the main Nio brand, the Onvo sub-brand, and the Firefly sub-brand. The Nio and Onvo brands have already been integrated into its battery swap system, while Firefly has not yet been connected.
On May 1, the daily battery swap volume reached 170,585. This figure is slightly below the record high of 177,627 set during the Spring Festival travel rush on February 22 this year.
The just-concluded May Day holiday, which ran from May 1 to 5, was another peak travel period for the Chinese public, bringing a new stress test to public power infrastructure.
From May 1 to 5, Nio's highway charging and battery swap facilities provided a total of over 15.43 million kWh of power. This accounted for 16.3% of the total EV charging and swapping volume on China's highways during the period, according to Nio.
In highway scenarios, over 75.8% of the power obtained by Nio users came from battery swap services.
The company's 1,035 highway battery swap stations nationwide saved users over 220,984 hours of waiting time. Compared with the same period last year, the time saved increased by 20 percent.
Over 220,000 users relied entirely on battery swap services during their long-distance road trips. Meanwhile, over 130,000 users drove more than 1,000 kilometers during the holiday, an increase of 70.5% year-on-year.
Nio's public charging network also experienced significant growth in usage. The company currently operates 5,010 charging stations in China, offering 28,806 charging piles.
During the 5-day holiday, over 87% of the power charged at Nio's charging stations served users of other EV brands.
Nio is continuing to expand its infrastructure footprint, planning to fully connect the Hexi Corridor section of its Silk Road battery swap route on May 10.
The entire Silk Road battery swap route is expected to be fully connected in the second half of this year, by which time users will be able to travel to all provincial-level administrative regions in the Chinese mainland relying solely on battery swap services.
Nio is also preparing for its next phase of infrastructure upgrades. The company plans to begin large-scale deployment of its fifth-generation battery swap stations in July and August this year, its management said in March.
These new stations feature a redesigned architecture to support a wider range of vehicle wheelbases. They will be compatible with vehicles from Nio, Onvo, and Firefly.
