- Xiaomi's new-generation SU7 added about 10,000 orders in the past four days, driven partly by potential customers rushing to lock in shrinking incentives.
- The new milestone comes just 48 days after the revamped SU7 hit the market.

Xiaomi EV announced Wednesday that its new-generation SU7 electric sedan has garnered more than 80,000 locked-in orders in just 48 days since its launch.
Notably, Xiaomi EV announced on May 2 that the new SU7 had reached 70,000 locked-in orders. The latest figure implies the model added roughly 10,000 firm orders over the past four days.
The sales milestone underscores consumer demand for the latest EV offering from the electric vehicle unit of Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi (1810 HK), and was partly driven by prospective buyers placing orders before the expiration of the new SU7's launch-period incentives.
Xiaomi EV said on May 2 that the initial sales perks for the new SU7 would officially end at midnight on May 5. These included benefits worth 44,000 yuan ($6,450) for the Standard and Pro variants, and up to 69,000 yuan for the Max version.
To continue attracting potential buyers after the launch period, Xiaomi introduced a new round of slightly reduced, limited-time purchase incentives today, valid from May 6 through May 31.
Buyers of the Standard and Pro versions can now receive incentives worth up to 42,000 yuan, while customers of the Max variant will get purchase benefits valued at 61,000 yuan.
Starting today, Xiaomi EV is also removing certain optional configurations for the electric sedan to further optimize production and delivery efficiency.
The new-generation SU7 was officially launched on March 19, with a starting price of 219,900 yuan for the Standard version. The Pro and Max variants are priced at 249,900 yuan and 303,900 yuan, respectively.
The expected delivery wait time for the new Xiaomi SU7 has extended to 11 to 14 weeks as of today, up from the previous 7 to 10 weeks, according to CnEVPost's daily monitoring.
In April, Xiaomi's overall vehicle deliveries surpassed 30,000 units, representing a significant increase from the 21,440 units delivered in March.
The company has set an ambitious annual delivery target, planning to hand over a total of 550,000 vehicles to customers in 2026.
Xiaomi also plans to officially launch the YU7 GT, a high-performance pure electric SUV, at the end of May to enrich its product lineup.
Additionally, spy shots of its new large SUV, internally codenamed "Kunlun," have recently surfaced. The model is expected to be officially released in the second half of this year.
