Chery (HKG: 9973) sub-brand iCar is accelerating its new energy vehicle (NEV) lineup expansion, announcing Tuesday that its new family-oriented rugged SUV, the iCar V27, will officially launch on March 13.

This is the iCar brand's largest flagship model to date and the family's first vehicle equipped with an extended-range hybrid system.

The new vehicle continues the family's signature boxy, hardcore off-road design style. It opened for pre-orders and saw its first mass-produced unit roll off the assembly line in mid-January this year.

The hardcore, large five-seater SUV measures 4,909 mm in length, 1,976 mm in width, and 1,855/1,894 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,910 mm.

This makes the V27 significantly larger than the brand's previously launched models, such as the V23 and V23S.

Smart features are a core advantage of the new SUV. Its top-tier trim is equipped with Horizon Robotics' Horizon SuperDrive (HSD) advanced smart driving system and the Journey 6P chip, which boasts a computing power of 560 TOPS.

The system integrates 27 sensors, including one LiDAR, and utilizes an end-to-end large model architecture to support map-free urban navigation on autopilot (NOA).

The iCar V27 is powered by an extended-range hybrid system consisting of a 1.5T engine and electric motors. The maximum power of the four-wheel-drive version is expected to reach 335 kW.

The new vehicle has a pure electric range of 200 kilometers and a comprehensive range of up to 1,200 kilometers, according to previously released information.

Launched by Chery in April 2023, iCar is the group's first independent EV brand, targeting fashion-conscious young consumers.

The brand's first model, the iCar 03, was launched in February 2024 with a starting price of 109,800 yuan ($15,920) at the time. The model was discontinued in November 2025.

Subsequently, in December 2024, iCar launched its second pure electric model, the V23, which also featured a boxy design.

The V27 marks the iCar brand's first foray into the extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) market. This powertrain format is becoming increasingly popular among consumers in the Chinese market, as it combines the performance of pure electric vehicles with the range convenience of traditional gasoline cars.

The Luxeed V9 marks the first MPV model under the Huawei HIMA umbrella, expected to be launched in the first half of 2026.
