Xiaomi EV delivered over 25,000 vehicles in June, according to an announcement today on Weibo by the electric vehicle (EV) unit of Xiaomi (HKG: 1810, OTCMKTS: XIACY).
"We are working around the clock to ramp up production and aim to deliver vehicles to you as soon as possible," Xiaomi EV wrote on Weibo, without providing further details.
As before, Xiaomi EV did not disclose a specific figure, but its wording regarding June's vehicle deliveries was lower than the "over 28,000 units" reported for May. This marks the ninth consecutive month that Xiaomi EV has seen monthly deliveries exceed 20,000 units.
Xiaomi officially launched the SU7 electric sedan on March 28, 2024, positioning its first EV model as a competitor to Tesla's Model 3.
On February 27, Xiaomi launched the SU7 Ultra, an electric sedan based on the standard SU7 model with a maximum horsepower of 1,548 Ps.
On June 26, Xiaomi officially launched the YU7, its first electric SUV (sport utility vehicle), a competitor to Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA) Model Y.
The YU7 received 200,000 firm orders within the first three minutes of sales and over 240,000 locked-in orders within 18 hours, according to Xiaomi's previous announcements.
Xiaomi has already produced some YU7 vehicles, and consumers can lock in their orders by paying a non-refundable deposit of RMB 20,000 ($2,790), with delivery expected within 1-5 weeks.
Xiaomi EV's mobile app shows that deliveries of customized YU7 cars will begin in August.
The YU7's popularity has left order holders facing extremely long delivery wait times.
The delivery wait time for the entry-level YU7 Standard is 57-60 weeks, 50-53 weeks for the YU7 Pro, and 37-40 weeks for the top-tier YU7 Max, according to monitoring by CnEVPost.
Xiaomi is preparing for production at phase 2 of its EV factory. Previous reports from some local media outlets indicated that the phase 2 project would be completed by mid-June and officially commence production in July-August.
