Leapmotor (HKG: 9863) saw a record delivery volume in May, supported by newly launched models.

The Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) maker backed by Stellantis NV (NYSE: STLA) delivered 45,067 vehicles in May, surpassing the previous record of 42,517 units set in December 2024, according to data released today.

This represents a 148.10 percent increase from the 18,165 vehicles delivered in the same month last year and a 9.82 percent increase from the 41,039 vehicles delivered in April.

In the first five months of the year, Leapmotor delivered 173,658 vehicles, marking a 160.83 percent year-on-year increase, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

Leapmotor's sales target for 2025 is between 500,000 and 600,000 units, doubling the 293,724 units delivered in 2024.

The strong delivery volume was primarily driven by the launch of new models over the past two months.

Leapmotor launched the all-electric B10 compact SUV (sport utility vehicle) on April 10, with a starting price of RMB 99,800 ($13,860).

The B10 is the first model in the company's B series and began deliveries on April 19.

The B10 received 10,016 firm orders within one hour of its launch, Leapmotor previously said.

On May 15, Leapmotor launched the 2026 C10 SUV, continuing to offer extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) and battery electric vehicle (BEV) options.

Leapmotor offers three versions of the C10 BEV, with starting prices of RMB 122,800, RMB 132,800, and RMB 142,800.

This represents a decrease of RMB 6,000, or 4.66 percent, compared to the starting price of RMB 128,800 for its predecessor.
