The interior of the YU7 will remain closed to the public, which Xiaomi EV said is due to the fact that many features have yet to be released.

At the end of April, Xiaomi EV had 269 stores in 74 cities, according to data it previously announced.

Xiaomi made the YU7 debut on May 22, its second new model after the SU7 electric sedan, which will be officially launched in July.

At the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area International Auto Show, or the 2025 Shenzhen auto show, which runs from May 31-June 8, Xiaomi will display its entire lineup, including the YU7.

Xiaomi's only model currently on sale is the SU7 sedan series, which was launched on March 28, 2024, helping Xiaomi to quickly find success in China's competitive EV market.

On February 27, Xiaomi launched the SU7 Ultra, the company's electric sedan variant with 1,548 Ps of maximum horsepower based on the regular SU7.

The YU7 is a five-seat mid-to-large-size SUV with length, width and height of 4,999 mm, 1,996 mm and 1,600 mm respectively, and a wheelbase of 3,000 mm.

The model is a competitor to Tesla's (NASDAQ: TSLA) hot-selling Model Y, with larger dimensions and longer range, although pricing information has yet to be released.

Xiaomi unveiled three variants of the YU7 -- Standard, Pro, and Max, similar to the SU7.

Both the YU7 Standard and Pro variants come with a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack with a capacity of 96.3 kWh and a CLTC range of 835 kilometers and 770 kilometers respectively.

The YU7 Max variant is powered by a lithium ternary battery pack with a capacity of 101.7 kWh and has a CLTC range of 760 kilometers.

"In China, we see intense competition and Tesla is no longer seen as the technology leader."
