The company, the only Chinese car brand to have a presence at the ADI Design Museum, sees its entry into Italy as a key step in its globalization.

Italy is one of Europe's top five automotive markets and one of the pioneers of Europe's electrification transition.

The Italian government aims to achieve an annual production capacity target of 1.3 million new energy vehicles (NEVs) by the end of 2025, and the country's charging network is expanding at a rate of 35 percent annually, noted a statement shared by Xpeng to CnEVPost.

In the first two months of this year, Italy's NEV sales increased 59.6 percent year-on-year, reaching a 7.2 percent market share, according to the company.

Xpeng has significantly expanded its efforts to enter international markets over the past two years. By the end of 2024, its international presence covered 30 countries and regions.

It aims to cover more than 60 countries and regions by the end of 2025, the company previously said.

In the next 10 years, Xpeng wants half of its car sales to come from overseas, the company's chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng said in February.

In Europe, Xpeng has now entered markets including Denmark, Norway, the Netherlands, Sweden, Germany, France, Spain, Portugal, the UK, Poland, Switzerland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

The company plans to expand its French sales points to 55 by the end of this year, with a 3 percent share of the local NEV market.

Xpeng will debut a new electric sedan as early as next week, further diversifying its sedan lineup.
