Dongfeng Motor's premium electric vehicle (EV) unit Voyah has entered the United Arab Emirates (UAE) market, becoming the latest Chinese EV maker to expand into the Middle East.

Voyah announced its official entry into the Middle East at a brand launch event in the UAE on May 9, according to a May 11 announcement.

The EV maker officially opened its flagship store in Abu Dhabi and began selling the Voyah Free SUV (sport utility vehicle) and Voyah Dream MPV (multi-purpose vehicle).

The price of the Voyah Free in the UAE is equivalent to about RMB 364,000 ($50,650) and the Voyah Dream is equivalent to RMB 550,000, Voyah said.

The two cars currently start at RMB 228,900 and RMB 329,900 in China, respectively.

Voyah is a brand announced by Dongfeng Motor in late 2020, with the first model, the Voyah Free, launched in June 2021 in China.

On May 7, 2022, Voyah's second model, the Dream MPV, was launched. On April 18, 2023, Voyah's third model, the Zhuiguang sedan, was launched.

On October 13, 2024, Voyah launched its fourth model, the Zhiyin, called the Courage in overseas markets, a (NASDAQ: TSLA) Model Y competitor.

Voyah began exploring overseas markets in 2022 and is now in more than 40 countries, including Norway, the Netherlands and Italy.

Voyah delivered 10,019 vehicles in April, the second consecutive month with more than 10,000 deliveries, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.

In the January-April period, Voyah delivered 36,053 vehicles, up 77.18 percent year-on-year.
