Xpeng (NYSE: XPEV) saw the 50,000th unit of the P7+ roll off the assembly line, about 5 months after the launch of the mid-to-large-size electric sedan.
The Chinese electric vehicle (EV) maker shared the development on Weibo today, representing a milestone for one of its best-selling models.
Xpeng launched the P7+ on November 7, 2024, when it was offered in three variants with starting prices of RMB 186,800 ($25,670), RMB 198,800, and RMB 218,800 respectively.
Xpeng saw the 10,000th P7+ roll off the production line on November 28, 2024, 20 days after its launch. Delivery of the 10,000th P7+ took place on December 11 last year.
On April 23, Xpeng launched a faster charging variant for the P7+ on the first day of the 2025 Shanghai auto show with a battery that has a charging multiplier of 5C at a starting price of RMB 208,800.
The new P7+ variant can charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in 12 minutes.
The P7+ previously came standard with lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries that support 3C charging and can charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in 20 minutes.
The mid-to-large-size electric sedan measures 5,056 mm in length, 1,937 mm in width and 1,512 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 3,000 mm.
The P7+ doesn't come with any LiDAR, marking the first time Xpeng has ditched the component after using it for the past several years, shifting its driver assist system to a vision-only solution similar to that of Tesla (NASDAQ: TSLA).
The company delivered 33,205 vehicles in March, its fifth consecutive month of more than 30,000 units, with the P7+ contributing 8,545 units, or 25.73 percent, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
In the first quarter, Xpeng delivered 94,008 vehicles, up 330.81 percent from 21,821 in the same period last year.
