BYD (HKG: 1211, OTCMKTS: BYDDY) has entered the Croatian passenger car market, continuing its European expansion.

The company has launched four models in Croatia, the Seal, Song Plus EV, Song Plus DM-i and Sealion 07 EV, according to a brief Weibo post it made today.

Separately, according to BYD Europe's LinkedIn account, the Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) maker announced its entry into the local market at an event held on April 23 in the Croatian capital Zagreb.

In Croatia, the Sealion 07 EV was rebranded as the Sealion 7, the Song Plus DM-i was rebranded as the Seal U DM-i, and the Song Plus EV was rebranded as the Seal U EV, in the same way as BYD does in other European markets.

BYD will open two dealership stores and a repair facility in Zagreb, according to a post shared by the Chinese Embassy in Croatia.

In the past month, BYD expanded into more European markets.

On March 21, BYD launched the Sealion 07 EV, Yuan UP, Yuan Plus, Seal, and Song Plus DM-i in Serbia.

The Sealion 07 was renamed Sealion 7 in Serbia, the Yuan UP was renamed Atto 2, the Yuan Plus was renamed Atto 3, and the Song Plus DM-i was named Seal U DM-i.

On April 1, BYD announced its entry into Switzerland, with the first locally available BYD models including the Seal, Sealion 07 EV, and Song Plus DM-i.

On April 16, BYD said it entered the Czech and Slovak car markets with the first models being the Sealion 07 EV and Song Plus DM-i.

BYD sold 377,420 NEVs in March, up 24.78 percent year-on-year and up 16.90 percent from February, according to figures it announced on April 1.

The company sold a record 72,723 vehicles overseas in March, up 89.22 percent year-on-year and up 8.50 percent from February.

BYD entered the UK passenger car market in March 2023.
