- Li Auto said the Li i8 has completed two winters and two summers of durability and performance validation in 300 Chinese cities.
- Starting March 10, Li i8 test cars wrapped in light camouflage will begin nationwide testing.

Li Auto (NASDAQ: LI) said it has completed more than 8 million kilometers of road tests for the Li i8, its first all-electric SUV (sport utility vehicle), which is the equivalent of circling the globe more than 200 times.
To date, the Li i8 has completed two winters and two summers of endurance and performance tests in 300 cities across China, Li Auto said today on Weibo.
In cities, as well as in complex environments including deserts, mountains, swamps, snow and ice, Li Auto's engineers validated the SUV in more than 4,000 scenarios and examined its more than 1,200 NVH (Noise, Vibration, Harshness) metrics, it said.
Starting March 10, the Li i8 test vehicles wrapped in light camouflage will begin larger testing nationwide, Li Auto said.
The company shared several new images of the Li i8 on its WeChat account as well as a video showing the model in road tests.
Li Auto is one of the major extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) players in China and currently sells mainly L-series extended-range electric vehicles (EREVs), including the Li L6, Li L7, Li L8 and Li L9, all of which are SUVs.
On March 1, 2024, the Li Mega MPV (multi-purpose vehicle) was launched, the first battery electric vehicle (BEV) model from Li Auto.
By the end of February, the Li Mega had accumulated 12,286 deliveries, according to data compiled by CnEVPost.
The company had originally planned to launch more BEVs in the second half of 2024, but announced in an earnings call last May 20 that it was delaying that plan until the first half of 2025.
Li Auto announced on February 25 that its first all-electric SUV was named the Li i8 and released the first official images to start warming up for the model.
On March 3, Li Auto said the official launch of the Li i8 would be in July.
Li Auto will report its unaudited financial results for the fourth quarter and full year of 2024 before the US markets open this Friday, March 14, where plans for the Li i8 and more BEV models are expected to be the focus of the earnings call.
Before the Li i8 goes on sale, Li Auto will upgrade its current models in May, bringing smart-driving hardware upgrades, the company's vice president Liu Jie said late last month.
